New mixxt-Update: violet
Last night we updated mixxt to version 0.13.x. Apart from technical optimisations the new version called “violet” comes along with many new and exciting features.
Blog module
From now on you can use mixxt as a blogging-tool as well. Network founders may activate and configure this feature and open new communication channels for their community. In our blogpost “New: Blogs within mixxt-networks” you’ll find more infos on this.
News feed
The news feed which was already integrated for each user in our last update is now available for each network separately. At a glance, members can now see what’s up in their respective network, which important dates are to come and whether new members joined or what they are up to. By filtering the entries, users may also decide which activities they’d like to be displayed.
Menu builder
With the new menu builder we created another new exciting feature. On one hand, administrators may now rename and move the tabs according to their preference. On the other hand, external webpages can now be integrated into the network via iframes. This feature is very outstanding and helps you to enrich the network with more interesting content or even attract your members with external solutions as t-shirt shops or the like. In addition, events, wiki pages or forum threads as well as external links may be integrated in the tab bar via directlink and helps you saving your users from dispensable clicking.
Forum and wiki search
By means of the forum and wiki search options you raise greater transparency in your community. The results are presented nice and clearly so that you and your members keep the necessary overview - even at a rising number of contents, pages and postings.
Visibility of forum threads
At the request of many network founders, we have also integrated the possibility to hide forum threads from being read by all members. This is especially useful when administrators and/or moderators want to communicate and exchange internal information. And again, it shows the versatile applications of mixxt networks.
15 new themes
Finally we created 15 new standard design themes to let you adorn your networks. You have the choice of 24 templates, but any of your own design ideas remain adaptable as well.
